Intellectual Property Related Time Limits Extended

Within the scope of the measures taken by Turkey against the COVID-19 outbreak, the time limits falling between March 13, 2020 and April 30, 2020 in legal proceedings, including the ones regulated under the Industrial Property Code, have been EXTENDED.

The time limits falling under the mentioned period will start to run again on May 01, 2020.

This measure covers the peremptory time limits relating to

  • filings and payments, including prosecution, opposition /objection, before Turkish Patent and Trademark Office and
  • filing legal action against the decisions of Turkish Patent and Trademark Office.

The extension will not apply for time limits regarding the completions of interim injunctions under the Code of Civil Procedure.
